Regal - A portrait series giving participants an opportunity to interpret what the word and concept of “Regal” means to them.
Necessary - A portrait series capturing backstage portraits of drag king performers at Notes on Masculinity, a bi-monthly show in Chicago at the California Clipper.
Street Art - Capturing this beautiful art as I come across it in my travels. I’m still new to the artists, but I’m learning more and more every day.
What the Forest Grows - Examining the musical ecosystem of the forest, musicians, and musical instruments.

Other Works:

In my life I have sold hubcaps, been a building engineer for residential high rises, managed a college bookstore, worked in the retail warehouse for 2 major Chicago sports teams, played bass in two bands, and played Dungeons and Dragons under an NDA with an ENnie award winning designer as a product tester. I was named to the Burlesque Top 50 (Non- Performer) in 2016 (#11), 2018 (#9) and 2021 (#18). In 2017, I was the runner up best photographer in Chicago according to the Chicago Reader.

Greg Inda

Hi! I'm Greg Inda (He/Him/His); photographer, farmer and occasional woodworker, based in both Chicago, IL and Monroe, WI. I have been a professional photographer for over a decade, studying (briefly) at Columbia College in Chicago and then under the mentorship of Richard Stromberg at the Chicago Photography Center. When Richard opened his second photography school I came back as a lab instructor for several terms teaching Adobe Lightroom techniques to beginning students. Additionally, I have taught my own photography workshops independently since 2016.

I am passionate about approaching photoshoots as a collaboration, capturing a subject's self-expression. Whether that be a client needing a slick and professional corporate headshot, or working with a theatre company on a single image that’ll generate interest in a new play. My goal with every session is to find the best, most efficient ways to communicate information and turn that information into beautiful and compelling photographs.

Before I got into photography professionally, I spent over 10 years working in Chicago theaters and internationally in theater festivals, focused mainly on improv. Besides comedy, improv is about spontaneous reaction, honest communication and problem-solving in real time. This has had a profound effect on the way I approach photography, both developing a sense of empathy for the vulnerability people often struggle to overcome when having their picture taken, and setting me on a path of photographing events and performances.

My second life is spent on my family farm in Wisconsin, where I keep bees, grow lavender, and raise chickens; and have also spent the past several years practicing as an amateur woodworker. I've built windsor chairs, boxes, butcher block tables, and in 2019, I built my first acoustic guitar. I’ve also got three banjos I’ve built hanging on various walls at home and at the farm (there is always room for another banjo). What I love about woodworking, and similarly photography, is the focus on process. Everything starts with your previsualization and plan, but things change along the way as you discover the little individual bits about each piece of lumber, and in the end you assemble a totally unique piece. And frankly, is there a better smell then that of fresh cut wood and sawdust?

Travel is another passion, and I love the feeling of being in a fresh environment and finding ways to encapsulate a place in a photograph.

I look forward to working with you and creating something amazing.
