Driving back to Chicago from Wisconsin I was treated to some beautiful harvest scenery and some serious clouds before a fall storm rolled in. Enjoy
It's easy to get discouraged. My friend Mike and I were driving west towards Badlands National Park. We still had 3 hours to go when we drove under a very ominous looking cloud. Sure enough, we hit the blizzard everyone had told us was coming. We couldn't picture our trip being interrupted by mother nature, but there we were surrounded by snow.
In times like that it's easy to lose hope, turn around, and go home. But stubbornly (or stupidly depending on your viewpoint) we forged ahead. And our reward was to see a beautiful part of the country in a way few tourists get to.
While in Switzerland, I was fortunate to be taken over the Susten Pass. This was the photo I took of the amazing scenery, though it is 10 images merged together.
